I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix + v7 C/ f- G5 K* D. p7 l0 _ * U( ~' X: K3 f6 d.
